A great little piece of lightweight luxury that will really appeal to the weight conscious coffee drinkers out there. Simple, effective, washable and an environmentally friendly way of cutting waste.

Our Verdict

Montbell’s O.D Compact Dripper is an ultralight way for you to get a quality coffee out on the trail. The simple design provide uses a micromesh filter to reduce waste from disposable filters and can be cleaned after use. The Dripper fits onto almost any cup, mug or thermos by threading two thin poles (designed with chopsticks in mind) through the loops on the side and balancing it over your chosen cup. You then simple pour the water in as required and then enjoy your filtered coffee. This version will make between 4-7 cups of coffee. 

It is designed to work with chopsticks through the loops so the filter is balanced across the cup or pot with liquid dripping through. You can of course try and find a alternative to chopsticks but for the weight of a bamboo set, I always pack some rather than chance finding a useable alternative when camping. At just 8g this really is an ultralightweight luxury.
