Our Verdict

Jetboil’s JetGauge Fuel Canister Scale is a pretty simple piece of kit. You set it according to the size of the canister you are measuring, attach it to your gas canister and it will tell you how much is left as a percentage. A simple table helps you understand roughly what percentage will give you a number of boils (which Jetboil says is the ability to boil a 500ml cup of water).

I couldn’t begin to count the number of times I’ve guessed whether there is enough gas (or not) left in the canister to get me through the next trip. This has changed all of that but more importantly for me, it has cut down on waste. I no longer bin cans without checking that they have been completely emptied, I can usually squeeze one last round of drinks out of a canister now.
