A pack of 10 super sized hardened aluminium tent pegs from Hilleberg. These Y-shaped pegs are bigger and stronger than the usual pegs provided with Black Label tents so you can be confident they are extra strong, durable and provide a solid anchor for the most extreme conditions.

Hilleberg says: 

With its three-finned “Y” cross-section and 24 cm (9.4 in) length, the robust new Y-Peg XL offers maximum strength, hard ground penetration and soft ground hold in a remarkably lightweight package. Its hardened aluminum body is rugged enough for demanding use and for repeated hammering into rocky ground, and its bright gold anodized color and attached cord loop make it easy to see and to retrieve.

Our Verdict

Hilleberg’s Y Peg XL Set are an impressive set of pegs designed to provide you with a serious hold for the worst conditions. At 30g per peg, these are not aimed at ultralight trips but focus on providing size and strength for camping in poor conditions. These Y-pegs work really well in softer ground and the 24cm length allows you to get a serious amount of support for your tent.

These are not going to be pegs you take on every trip due to the size and weight but for winter camping or when the forecast is looking wet and windy these pegs will really come into their own.
